Mansfield District Council has teamed up with Ashfield District Council to offer grants of between £1,000 and £1,500 to support companies which would not otherwise be in a position to recruit an apprentice.  In total there is a £60,000 fund available in total, which can be applied for in addition to the Apprenticeship Grant for Employers of 16-to-24 year olds. Employers wishing to take advantage of this new grant must be located within the administrative borders of either Mansfield or Ashfield District Councils, employ fewer than 250 people, demonstrate they are creating an additional or new Apprenticeship position, and work with an approved training provider. In addition, the apprentice(s) they employ must be aged between 19-24 years when they start their Apprenticeship, and reside within the administrative borders of Mansfield or Ashfield District Councils.
