LAST CALL FOR COURSES IN DECEMBER 2016

We have a few spaces remaining on the following courses running in Chesterfield in December 2016. Structural Steelwork Design to Eurocode 3, a two day course running on 2 & 9 December 2016 (£395 + VAT) This two-day course will provide delegates with the opportunity to learn how to apply EC3 in design.  The course will begin with an overview of the Eurocodes and EC3 in particular, before looking at the basis of structural design to EC3.  The main focus of the course will be on design practice using beams, columns, and tension elements as the main design topics. Earthworks – Principles and Practice, on 5 December 2016 (£220 + VAT) – NOTE DATE CHANGE FROM CALENDAR The course will start from a review of the typical forms of earthworks and will emphasise the need to clearly understand and integrate the design and construction aspects. Key elements to the design of fills will then be addressed including the range of specification types, acceptability criteria, monitoring and control of earthworks, and reporting and certification.  Mentoring for Civil Engineers on Engineering Geology, 1.5 day equivalent course on 13 December 2016 (£295 + VAT) The geological content of modern civil engineering degree courses is often quite limited and engineers often need to develop their geological appreciation in practice. This course covers the fundamental of geology, discusses geological mapping and the major geological units in the UK, and considers the major hazards and risks presented by geological features to civil engineering projects. Discounts are available for group bookings or delegates attending more than one course. Please call or email us to reserve your place on a course.
